At Rice, we desire to help employees be the best they can be through continuing education, constructive feedback, coaching and leadership.
We now offer, at no cost to employees, a voluntary Wellness Program to educate and motivate employees to higher levels of wellness. We have a dedicated, third party Certified Wellness Coach who manages the program. She is strongly committed to coaching employees on their way toward wellness, away from disease and high health risks.
The results-oriented program aims to help employees:
- Reduce weight;
- Improve fitness;
- Reduce stress;
- Lower blood pressure and cholesterol;
- Stop smoking; and
- Reach other goals identified through risk assessment and other means.
This program offers one-on-one personalized coaching and counseling about nutrition, fitness, smoking cessation and other issues. She also counsels employees about self-care, including self-exams to screen for breast and other cancers.
The program is individualized; employees choose any goal they wish to work toward. Each Rice facility has a combined Wellness/Safety Team to help employees participate in this program. The Program is a resource for any Rice employee who wants to improve his or her health.
